Footsteps for Providence: 115 Miles of Gratitude
Posted: Friday 24 July, 2026

Former pupil Joanna Macbain is taking on a 115-mile fundraising walk across the Western Isles this August in support of Providence Christian School. God willing, Joanna will begin in Eriskay on Monday 10 August and finish at Providence Christian School in Stornoway on Friday 14 August.

Joanna writes:

“I have deep gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice shown by teachers, staff and parents who work together in supporting the school. Having access to Christian education is an enormous blessing. The school’s ethos inspires me deeply, particularly its dedication to recognising the Word of God as central to its curriculum. I truly believe it is worth supporting in continuing this mission.

Every mile will serve as a reminder of thankfulness for the faithful work carried out to continue impacting young lives and serving God through a Christ-centred education.

This walk is a small token of appreciation for all that has been done over the years for the school and those continuing to serve faithfully today. God willing, Providence will continue to grow and flourish as God sees fit, impacting and shaping future generations.

Let us uphold the enduring principle of Proverbs 22:6: ‘Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.’

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support. Every donation, however big or small, will be a huge help and is very much appreciated.”
